Here is a school horn that I rescued. I had my tech do an ultrasonic cleaning, roll out dents, and get the valves and slides moving well. This is a great playing tuba! Comes in a (heavy) wooden hard case. Greyhound shipping is possible. Or meet in the SF Bay Area. I am willing to do some of the driving if needed. $1600 + shipping and any fees

They are good. Each valve has a decent "pop" when I pull the slides. Does it pop as much as my new-ish condition B&S tubas? No. But still a good pop.

Also, if a buyer is not interested in the hard case - all 25 lbs of it - we can knock $100 off the price. I wouldn't mind holding on to the case.

Well... someone got a great tuba!!!!!!!! Yes, so much better than a new shiny clone.
What a shame the "flavor of the day" horns and the clones seem to have the young buyers eye! They often miss these gems.

As bloke said: it's a Miraphone! Ask if the first valve slide pops when you withdraw it without depressing the first valve paddle. If it does, then the valves are in great shape. If I didn't already have mine, I would buy it.
