Selling my beloved F tuba. I am the first owner. Purchased in 1991. This horn was created for me by D Kleinehorst. If the tuba had come with a serial number it would have been 0. Minor dings in body which is no surprise all the places it has been. Excellent intonation. Unique singing sound that is more like a rotary f. The fifth valve is set up with tritone system Kleinehorst liked. There are the two leadpipes that are original equipment and three that came in 2017 before the tuba part of Gronitz closed in Hamburg.

I have always wondered, with the Tritone fifth valve, how do you finger the note a perfect 5th down from the second partial, in this case the Bb. Low C is probably 4, low B natural the 5th valve, then what? Guessing that 25 would be very sharp without a second trigger

24 for B worked well. I rarely used 5 for B
14 for Bb. Easy access to first slide makes it easy. 25 is useful in some situations.

Lots of people have looked at this ad. I have had some offers. None would have gotten where I want to go. Where I want to go is a B&S Symphonie or a Miraphone six valve F. 4+2 is the set up I am interested in. If you want a to trade for an excellent piston F tuba please PM. My horn has not been played since before the virus hit the US continent so I promise no harm will come to you should you trade. That's it fans and foes.

These are amazing F tubas!! Chuck is dead-on about the singing sound; it has the Germanic bass tuba core which sings and projects like crazy...far from any other piston F tuba I’ve ever played. My first F was a 1969 Alexander, then a 1980 B&S Symphonie, and my Gronitz PF-125 has that beautiful “Michael Lind-esque” Germanic bass tuba sound. I just melted in my chair every time Mike Roylance played mine . I have the tritone fifth valve, and I use almost the exact same system Chuck mentioned with just two exceptions; 1/4/5 Gb & 3/4/5 F...those rip! Good luck!! Jobey

I frankly have trouble understanding why the tritone fifth system isn't more popular for bass tubas. I play tested a Gronitz Eb that had that set-up and loved it. I just didn't like the low, pancake bell on it.
