Title says it all. I flew out to Pomona late last year after my first 836 was trashed by the airlines. I picked two from a batch of 11 and this one is my favorite of the two. Since I’ve gotten squeamish about damage to tubas, I’ve kept this one at home in the basement as my practice tuba and use my wife’s favorite 836 at work...and it got a darn dent already...small one...not my fault...long story.

Anyway, Eastman is working to repair my old one and I’m still sitting on two Yamayorks, one of which is also still for sale. In preparation for the associated expenses I’m selling this one with a Messina Bag. I’m asking $10,500. If buyer needs shipping, they’ll have to cover that expense. Testing at my house is available, my schedule allowing.

To answer a few questions....if I’d already sold my spare Yamayork I’d be keeping this one. Regarding my favorite versus my wife’s favorite, this one is my favorite based on incredible ease of playing and sound. My wife doesn’t care about any of that and likes the other (dented one) when she’s sitting in the hall. I’m getting (slowly, stubbornly) to the point where I’ve decided to listen to her...

Happy to answer questions about the horn privately via my email, FB, or here...just be patient...I’m busy.

Thanks for looking and hope your 2020 has started off well.

I’ve got a line on another one locally that’s brand new and plays great. Feel free to reach out for contact info. Going forward, direct all messages to:
