B&S PT6P For Sale $8,000 (SOLD)
Located in Irving, Texas
Also includes
- Glen Cronkhite Gig Bag
- Schlipf Size 9 Practice Mute
Great playing PT6P which I purchased in the summer of 2017. The horn has served me well though the end of high school and the start of my degree. The horn was manufactured in the spring of 2002. The horn has some lacquer wear in the expected places and around where the leadpipe was modified to where the receiver is at a slightly more downward angle than stock and is detailed in the pictures. There is a patch on the 1st valve slide and in the port of the 3rd valve which are shown in pictures. Horn has a couple of minor dings. I can't consider trades as I have another horn on the way. I also would prefer a local buyer but I am willing to drive a couple of hours to meet someone in the middle. I also would be willing to ship but that would be at the buyers expense.
Horn has a couple of modifications
- All 5 valves vented
- All Water Keys removed
- Leadpipe angle changed (shown in pictures)
- O rings on 1st, 3rd, 4th tuning slides

I will be at the TMEA convention next month if any interested parties want to try it or pick it up there.

just a question regarding venting? Why or what advantage is there in venting valves whose slides are not going to be moved while playing?

The valve venting was done before I bought this horn so I don't know the reasons that the previous owner did those modifications. In my experience venting helps in smoothness in slurs. I personally move the 1st, 4th and sometimes 3rd valve slides while playing this horn for reference.
