My Kanstul 90-S (silver plated model) is for sale. It’s a York copy with Kanstul’s “special alloy bell” that is supposedly the closest copy of the metal alloy York used on their horns. Despite being a 4/4 tuba, the bell is huge like on the classic York tubas. People often think it looks like a 5/4.
$6,500 for the tuba and a Cronkhite gig bag. I have a hard case available as well.
Horn is located in Pittsburgh.
This horn is hand-made. Intonation is great. Easy to play high and low extremes; a do-it-all horn. Unlike many instruments, the 1+3 valve combo is very responsive, offering plenty of intonation possibilities. The bore is bigger in the fourth valve (and even more in fifth valve), making the low range incredibly responsive on this model.
