Sold
Circa 1909 Holton 3 Valve Eb Tuba Silver with a 19” bell. $1,100
When horns were horns! Serial #316xx
Antique. There is no case included.
It is my understanding that York made these for Holton.
It is over 100 years old, so there are some minor dings, but nothing significant.
Plays great. My former teacher borrowed this from me in the 90s and performed on it with the PIttsburgh Symphony when playing such pieces as the Bydlo, the Bear, or Berlioz.
2 modifications I made:
Low pitch slide brought up to modern pitch
Receiver changed to accept an american shank mouthpiece.
Here is a link to hundreds of pieces of sheet music and recordings (solos, duets, quartets, methods mouthpieces, CDs).
