~SOLD~Musica (Cerveny) 3/4 BBb with hard case- Price drop

Post by WakinAZ »

~SOLD~
Listing for my buddy Ed. I have the horn while he is on vacation..
I sit next to this horn every Saturday during community band rehearsal and have played it multiple times. It's a very nice solid horn with a lot of punch for its size. A good "old man", student, quintet, doubler, gig, etc., throw it in the back seat and go type horn.
case has multiple grab handles for easy slinging.

Musica (Cerveny) 3/4 BBb with wheeled hard case $1795

This is a Musica brand tuba made by Cerveny. This horn was made for Conn by Cerveny, a tuba manufacturer from the Czech Republic. It was manufactured in the late 90’s or early 2000’s. It is a “stencil” of the Cerveny “Piggy”.

This horn is in very good condition. The valves are excellent and very quiet. The .787 bore on this horn is large for a 3/4 horn. It produces a great sound. It is currently being played in community bands, a brass group, as well as a German band. The horn was cleaned and thoroughly gone through before the fall season. The horn comes with a Cerveny hard case and has had after market wheels added.

The horn shows evidence of repair and has been re-lacquered in a couple spots. There are very few dings and scratches normal for a horn this age and attached photos show the overall wonderful condition of the horn. There are a couple of shallow thumbprint-sized dents on the bottom bow, see pictures. I have added an adjustable thumb ring. No mouthpiece is included, but it takes a standard American shank mouthpiece, such as a Conn or Bach.

Located in southern AZ, Tucson-Green Valley area. $175 shipping by Greyhound Package Express to CONUS only.

Hi Dave,
I have no idea, this was a stencil produced for Conn, so I'm not sure exactly which Cerveny model of the time it matched up to. Perhaps the TNFnJ can offer some opinions?

I have owned this exact model. It appeared to be one of the x83 models with .787-bore and a 14.5" bell. Great little horn!
