Basic info - Yamaha 621S F Tuba, $7,250 OBO, Pittsburgh, PA (and sometimes Atlanta, GA), Not interested in trades. Horn will be at NERTEC.
This horn has served me well in many settings. I played it in a brass quintet for years and I loved how versatile it is and how lightweight it is; it's been fun to play gigs standing up with it. I also played it in a British Brass Band for two years and loved the sound I got there. These horns play with such ease that the typical low register f tuba problems are non-existent, the sound just gets warm down there which has been great for solo repertoire. I've taken pictures of all the dings or dents on the horn, I'm happy to take more photos of anything if desired. The silver is in fantastic shape and I've always kept the horn clean so all of the slides are freely moving. I've never had any non-routine maintenance done to the horn except having the left side of the fourth valve slide re-soldered on after it came off and it surprisingly moves much better after that work. The first owner made a slight patch on the fourth valve slide and I don't believe it effects the sound in any way. Please feel free to message me or respond with any questions or offers, we can negotiate price if necessary. Shipping is possible and I can drive a bit for a serious buyer. Recordings available upon request.
