SOLD 1983 B&H Round Stamp Sovereign Euphonium

Up for sale is a beautiful classic British Euphonium as I have gravitated more towards Tuba in recent years.

1983 B&H Round Stamp Sovereign Euphonium SN 967-695541

This 38 year old beauty plays as well as it looks with that classic round stamp sovereign sound. Last one on EBay I checked sold for $2500 + shipping and mine looks to be in better overall condition so I'm pricing this at $2,200 now that it's been on sale here for a few months. I'd like to sell it locally or within reasonable driving distance of central Florida but realize that's often not reality. There are lots of ways to ship things and I'm willing to work with the buyer. I know where to purchase rolls of excellent major bubble wrap by the Airport to get this where it needs to go without damage. If someone pays asking price, I will pay to pack and ship it in the lower 48 CONUS or drive to meet up somewhere agreeable to both.

Disclosures -- there is a dent you can see pictured in one of the 3rd valve tube knuckles which has been present since I bought this horn 15 years ago. It doesn't affect the playing (wasn't that a recent thread) and I thus never messed with it. It's a 38 year old horn so although pictures show it to be like a brand new silver finish you can see swirling from someone's polishing in the past and other imperfections. The lyre holder was removed in the past, that is the oval mark on one of the tubes. This silver finish is thick and in British B&H style, the horn is built like a tank. It's a beautiful classic horn and deserves to be played out. I had a semi-pro demo it on break at orchestra and he commented that the valves were some of the nicest he's seen. Compression is excellent and delrin guides are present on all four. It's important to note that the first valve does not "spin" as freely as the other 3 when oiling, but when the guide is lined up it's perfect.

As posted on my other offering, I used to have a presence years back on Dave Werden's euphonium forum when I was more euphonium centered, but haven't been there in years and it feels awkward to go back there just to try and sell something. There's no rush and I know a number of euphonium forum members check Tubenet from time to time so I'll keep it here. Price is now reduced to $2200. with the same shipping conditions for CONUS. The deal did not pan out, basically because I didn't want to offer a long distance return policy with the return shipping and additional potential damage considerations.
