WTT Conn EEb Tuba for Conn BBb 20j, 10j, or 12j?
First off thank you for the add to this wonderful forum. My primary instrument is bass trombone but double on euphonium and tuba when needed. I particularly like Elkhart era Conn brass. I am intrested to know if anyone might want to trade a BBb for my EEb tuba. The serial number of my tuba is 188988 which puts it manufacture date around 1921 I believe. I can not find a model number anywhere but it is a Conn 3 piston, valve on the top configuration. It is in wonderful shape for being 100 years old. Very minor denting, great patina, all slides all pull, and valves work great. I unfortunately don't have a case for it. I'd like to keep it but believe I'd be more comfortable on a BBb for as little as I play tuba. I'm by far not a tuba expert but it looks as if maybe a Conn 20j, 10j, or 12j might fit the bill. Im not sure it would be financially an equal trade or not. All I go off is what tubas have sold on sites like Ebay. I don't need a beauty queen, just a reliable utility Elkhart Conn 3 valve BBb tuba ready to play without too many dents and similar in value with my EEb. If someone is intrested I can provide pics. I'd also prefer to drive to a mutual location to exchange if at all possible. I am willing to drive 200-300 miles if necessary. Thank you again for the add and I hope someone might be intrested. ewess77@yahoo.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

Even if no body is intrested, it would be nice to finally find out a little more about this tuba

That would be a rather large bell, can you double check your measurement?ewess77 wrote:Bell is 33.5" as best as I can measure

Not interested in a trade as I can’t play top valve tubas, but I have a Conn 10J for sale.
