FS: VMI 2103 BBb (F Schmidt)

I have an extra B&S (VMI) model 103 large BBb tuba. This one was made in the 1990's, I think, stenciled as an "F Schmidt" tuba for music retailer Brooks-May. Same horn as the B&S 3103, VMI 2103, etc. It is quite large for a 4/4 size horn. I think of it as 4/4+ or maybe 4.5/4... or 9/8?... Horn is in great shape. My tech went through it, taking out minor dings, and getting everything working well. He didn't have to do much. Bell is 17 5/8" and height is about 41". This horn makes a big sound, is easy to play, and has good intonation. Comes with your choice of the original MTS wheeled hard case or a new Superfine gig bag.

Price with the hard case is $2900; price with the gig bag is $3150. A Bay Area sale would be great but I am willing to ship.

That's a heck of a lot of tuba for ~$3k. I played alongside one of these for a few years, and it's just a nice classic BBb tuba. Plus, the gig bag is awesome, too!

I have the CC version of this, and it’s a great tuba. Somebody will get an excellent deal.
