FS: 3 Bass Helicons

Post by bisontuba »

I am helping a friend out West sell some antique instruments.

Next up are the Helicons ( Note: Baritone and Alto Helicons are SOLD):

4 rotary F to Eb European Helicon.

First up is an older F to Eb 4 clockspring rotary valve Helicon. Nice garland., Anon (Czech?), no inscription or marking that I can tell; it plays, and all four rotary valves are functional. The slides are oiled, and it has clearly been played recently (that is, in the last several years). Very minor dents, for a tuba.
Beautiful instrument. Bell diam.13”.

Four small solder patches.

No mouthpiece, but it does have the lead pipe add on to convert from F to Eb.

The price is $1,650 / OBO PLUS packing & shipping charges. Contact Mark at: jonestuba@gmail.com" target="_blank

AND

Up next is a Martin Elkhart Silver 3 piston Eb Helicon.
Bell diameter: just under 17 inches.
Serial number on second valve: 52968, c. 1924.
Three valves, all working. No patches or major dents that I can find.
Ornate engraving.
No gooseneck. Christmas decorations at no extra charge.

Price is $400 / OBO PLUS packing and shipping charges.
If interested, please contact Mark at: jonestuba@gmail.com" target="_blank

AND

Beautiful Bb Baritone Helicon, 3 clockspring rotary European,
Bell diam. 9.25”, The Three rotary valves in good working order,
One small patched area, no major dents, a few minor
Plays well, No mouthpiece, Mouthpiece position adjusts using screw on leadpipe
Inscription reads:

Lad. F Prokop
Chrudim

Handmade case with five locking compartments.
BARITONE HELICON IS SOLD

IN ADDITION:

Silver Alto Eb Helicon
Plays well, Bell diam. 6.25”,
Three piston valves, all working. One valve cap seems to be a replacement,
No mouthpiece, No major dents, no patches
Serial # 82787.
Made by
Boston Musical Instrument Company USQMD...US Quarter Master Department...which became USQMC ( Corp in 1912), so horn is prior to 1912.

Comes with its own handmade case.

ALTO HELICON IS SOLD

FINALLY:

Eb piston Helicon in a box!

Eb Bass Helicon:
Plays well, Really quite good shape. A few minor dents and patches. Brass is brittle in one location. See photos. No serial number or name.

It takes only one mouthpiece adapter -- it was erroneously photographed with two, so that's what the blue lines are -- they're crossing out the extraneous adapter. The other mouthpiece adapter goes with the alto.

Custom case.

Price is $850 / OBO PLUS additional packing and shipping charges. IF interested, contact Mark at: jonestuba@gmail.com" target="_blank
