FS: 3 Bass Helicons
Posted: Tue Jun 30, 2020 3:37 pm
I am helping a friend out West sell some antique instruments.
Next up are the Helicons ( Note: Baritone and Alto Helicons are SOLD):
4 rotary F to Eb European Helicon.
First up is an older F to Eb 4 clockspring rotary valve Helicon. Nice garland., Anon (Czech?), no inscription or marking that I can tell; it plays, and all four rotary valves are functional. The slides are oiled, and it has clearly been played recently (that is, in the last several years). Very minor dents, for a tuba.
Beautiful instrument. Bell diam.13”.
Four small solder patches.
No mouthpiece, but it does have the lead pipe add on to convert from F to Eb.

Serial number on second valve: 52968, c. 1924.
Three valves, all working. No patches or major dents that I can find.
Ornate engraving.
No gooseneck. Christmas decorations at no extra charge.

Eb Bass Helicon:
Plays well, Really quite good shape. A few minor dents and patches. Brass is brittle in one location. See photos. No serial number or name.
It takes only one mouthpiece adapter -- it was erroneously photographed with two, so that's what the blue lines are -- they're crossing out the extraneous adapter. The other mouthpiece adapter goes with the alto.
