Wessex Eb Helicon (the lacquer one) SOLD

Post by Ltrain »

With permission from the mods, I'm reposting this ad fresh with updated pricing and a clearer description (the last post got derailed by my crazy mouthpiece :P ) I'm taking one more shot at at grabbing an offer before I potentially barter/consign this horn for restoration services on a 60s King 1250 I just picked up. I can't afford the sousa work, the new heli, and a new kitchen this year, so I'm selling this beauty because I already have an Eb tuba. Here's the scoop:

- Tech specs: https://wessex-tubas.com/products/eb-helicon-he29" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank (this is the lacquer version with a gold brass bell)
- Recently set up and chem-cleaned by Matt Walters at Dillon
- Tuning slides aligned and top slides honed for smooth lefthand operation
- Valves aligned with premium felts n corks, Yamaha euph springs
- New Wessex mouthpiece and Neotech shoulder pad included
- Hardshell case
- Optional titanium MAW valve stems and aluminum buttons with custom Mardi Gras-inspired inlays and/or stock hardware*
- "Showroom new" condition (could pass for new except for a couple of very tiny dings and imperfections; see photos)
- Currently located in Brooklyn, NY

$2,250 – everything above except I keep the MAW stems and buttons and reinstall the stock hardware
+$250 for the MAW hardware

Shipping – I'll contribute $250 and you pay anything beyond that. I will only ship UPS or FedEx (possible DHL if they do residential pickup). I'll also drive <100 miles from NYC for a serious buyer.

Today’s the day for deals. I’ll be in northern VA next week and eastern NC the week after that if anyone is interested. I’d also entertain trades for a no-frills BBb as long a I see cash on my end.

I wasn’t able to find time last weekend to send the horn off for consignment, so it’s available for the time being. Actually, considering trades for a small BBb as long as it’s in good playing condition and I get some cash my way.
