Hi Folks,

Purchased this used about a year ago when I was living in a tiny East Village apartment. I've since moved to more suburban pastures and no longer need a practice mute. If you've used the original silent brass for tuba mute and are thinking "but it's so heavy.." I'm right there with you! That older version was a beast and clipping it to the bell really changed the weight/balance of the horn. My arms could only take about 30 min of playing before fatiguing.

Good news! The newer version is significantly improved. It is both less bulky and lighter and no longer needs to be clipped to the horn. It does come with straps to secure it to the horn but TBH, I never noticed that much of a difference with the straps on or off and with them off, its much easer to insert/remove the mute as needed. The newer version also features an adjustable rod to raise or lower how deep the mute sits in the horn which improves intonation and allows you to adjust the size according to the pitch of the tuba you're playing. A manual with a guide for where to set the rod based on which key you're playing will be included.

Price is sorta negotiable, but I'm already listing for less than I paid for it, so not going too much lower than that. Will send pics to anyone interested, but I'm guessing everyone here knows what a silent brass looks like. Its in good shape, no BS.

Included:
- Silent Brass Tuba Mute
- Yamaha Silent brass belt pack amplifier
- Stock silent brass Headphones
- Straps to attach to bell
- Manual

Located in NYC. Buyer pays shipping.
