I've been experimenting with 'electric tuba' and bought this Barcus-Berry stuff a couple of months ago.

I've decided to stick with my 'cheapo' lapel mic with wireless setup and am selling all the Barcus-Berry stuff including the transducer (pickup), the clip to mount the audio connection to the horn, a 10' audio cable with 1/4" audio plug, a model 1332-1 'Studio' preamp (with 9V battery), and a new Kelly 18 MP drilled for the pickup. The stuff works. I just don't need it. Take it all for $100.

Go any samples of the sound this gives? Particurally some for comparison with the lapel mic and a stand mounted mic a few feet from the bell.

What mod was need for the mouthpiece? I prefer Helleberg styles.

Got any info on the pickup and preamp? Like frequency response and distortion numbers?

I didn't notice you post/questions until today. I sold the Barcus-Berry stuff last week. I didn't make any recordings of the comparisons. Only a 1/4" hole had to be drilled thru the mouthpiece. I used a Kelly 18.

Maybe the fellow who bought the stuff will respond.
