This happens to be a really fantastic 4/4 (or small 5/4) instrument. I was the first owner and took it to a Chicago Symphony series that I was playing 2nd tuba on (Symphonie Fantastique) and Gene asked to play it. He said, "Wow! I didn't know rotory CC tubas could play that good!"

Over the years, I've grown partial to pistons, which is why I had sold this horn to Dave, who, in turn, is buying a larger instrument.

For someone who likes rotory instruments, this would be an incredible choice - it's worth checking out.

I remember playing this horn at Dillons a few years back and thought it was a fantastic tuba. Another genius Matt Walters creation. A truly unique sound and different than anything I had played. Definetly worth a try to someone in the market for a horn of this size and type. If I had not just bought a new MW2000 at the time I would have bought it instead for sure. Unless of course I could have talked Matt out of his little 4/4 York he built for himself. Another incredible horn.

I'll second what Pete said. I played this horn at Dillon's a couple years ago, and thought it flat-out smoked any of the other dozen or so horns I got my hands on that day. Like Pete, had I been in the market at the time, it would've come home with me.

A unique - and great - rotary axe.
