Boosey&Hawkes Imperial Eb 15 inch bell with recent valvejob

Post by TheodoreSmith »

This is a really nice example of a small bell 4 valve compensating Eb tuba. Valves 1-3 probably got a valve job within the past couple years because they are basically brand new. The valves have also been upgraded to nylon guides for quieter smoother action. The fourth valve is rough, but the low register is not any worse than the Brand New Wessex comp Eb I had a couple months ago. The sound is to die for. Anything in the staff or above sings.

Silver plate is pretty good
All slides move and the valves work well

I'm fairly certain it's early. 1930s or 1940s.

Also BUMP

I would trade for a 5 valve CC, F or Eb tuba :tuba:

The engraving on the bell would help date it. And serial #?...
