Thanks for the plug Zach. Come say hello after the show if you can.

Tour starts tomorrow (still packing...ugh). Soloists are trombone, bass clarinet, or drum set. They all sound great. Yes, it's an odd assortment.

The Brooklyn concert will feature monster jazz pianist Makoto Ozone doing Gershwin's Second Rhapsody with us.

I want to encourage anybody who might have the oppurtunity to hear this group on the remainder of their tour to make the effort, you wont be dissapointed! I just heard the band play today, and a huge BRAVO is deserved to the tuba section and the band! The low brass section, especially the tuba section, played with incredible finesse, intonation, blend, style, and accuracy! The amazing sound these three guys are putting out is huge when it needs to be, and just as amazing when its a nimble part of the canvas. Seriously, these guys should teach a class on section playing 101! Not to discount the rest of the band whom all played with great sense of line, and style.
Check it out if you can.

Cheers,
Mike Roylance

BTW, the BSO is performing the Berlioz Requiem this week with THREE tubas. Come listen if you can.

Thanks for the kind words, Mike!

It was a pretty good tour, aside from the fact that 50% of the hotels we stayed in were less than 4 hours from home... talk about a tease.

I'm most proud of the 7 brewpubs and roughly 3 dozen in-house varieties of beer I was able to sample throughout the trip 8)

I also learned that when a brewpub prints NO REFUNDS!! at the top of the beer list, chances are you don't want to drink there...
