Steve Dumaine masterclass and NSO Concert in PittsburgKansas

Post by Gorilla Tuba »

The National Symphony Orchestra will be doing a one day "residency" at Pittsburg State University (Kansas) on Thursday, March 29th. In addition to an evening concert, many of the performers will be giving clinics and masterclasses on our campus.

Tubist Steve Dumaine will be giving a masterclass at 1PM in room 318 of McCray Hall (music bldg). Please come by if you are in the area. It is rare for this level of orchestra to visit our campus and we are very excited!

Pittsburg, Kansas is about 2 hours away from Kansas City and Tulsa. Joplin, Missouri is only 30 miles away. I am sure a lot of tubenetters are in the area... I hope to see you at the event.

Steve taught me its ok to puff your cheeks in the low register-as long as you sound as good as him doing it....(he taught me through observing him knock out the Ride in grand fashion)........
