FIrst Valve Invented

Post by Mark »

I was just perusing the ITEA web site, http://iteaonline.org/ITEAYouthSite/YSmusicterms.php, and stumbpled on this:
Valve – the first valve was invented in 1815 by Heinrich Stolzel.
This was a good thing, but things really took off when the second and third valves were invented.

It gets more interesting on this page http://iteaonline.org/ITEAYouthSite/YScool_links.php where one of the Cool Links goes to "Rick Kenny's Tuba Website http://www.rickdenney.com/the_tuba_sound.htm".

And, ...

For all you UNT students and alumni, here is a trick question on this page, http://iteaonline.org/ITEAYouthSite/ite ... rivia1.php:
4. What branch of the military did euphoniumist Brian Bowman serve?

U.S. Army
U.S. Marines
U.S. Air Force
U.S. Coast Guard
You'll notice that you can only pic one and that the Navy Band is not in the list of possible answers.
