DMA Chamber Recital at UGA!

Post by The Impaler »

Little plug for my final required euph recital here in Athens. Should be a fun program! Monday, April 14th, at 3:35PM in Ramsey Recital Hall! Program consists of:

Wilhelm - Duett Concertino for tpt, euph, & piano (Chris Probst, tpt)

Payne - Quartet for Tubas (Jill Venter, euph - Dave Zerkel & Josh Cutchin, tubas)

Janacek - Capriccio for Piano left hand and winds (first chamber work every written using the euphonium, featuring the famous Anatoly Sheludyakov on piano)

Tomaro - Excursion (sweet little samba with piano, bass, and drums)

Post-game will be at Uncle Otto's downtown - 5PM sounds like a great time for some Achim's! Recital is free; Achim's, sadly, is not.....

Good luck Cale. I can't make it, but I'd really like to hear the Janacek. Where did you find the parts?

Dude, around $70 for the score and all the parts. I got them from sheetmusicplus.com, but you can also order them straight from Kalmus. I'll post audio clips if it turns out decent!

Hey Cale,

Good story, I played that Janecek when I was a sophomore in Highschool with a bunch of college students cause I was the only one around with a euphonium in my hands. Imagine my surprise when I saw the part! It was a joke on my front. Take it easy.
