Kansas City TubaChristmas - UPDATE

I am pleased to announce that the conductor for the Kansas City TubaChristmas 2008 will be Dr. Joe Parisi, conductor of the award-winning Fountain City Brass Band and Associate Director of Bands at the UMKC Conservatory. Under his direction, the Fountain City Brass Band has won multiple competitions including the 2007 and 2008 National Brass Band Championships and also the 2007 and 2008 Open Brass Band Championships. http://www.fcbb.net/ You can see a neat short video about the FCBB recording session on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQWjo8j-mHY and this includes comments from Dr. Parisi.

We are pleased to have Dr. Parisi leading TubaChristmas in Kansas City this year. Joining us as a special guest conductor will be Steven Jarvi, Assistant Conductor of The Kansas City Symphony. Our thanks to both gentlemen for volunteering their time for this event.

The concert will be over by 12:45 -- allowing plenty of time to sample one or more of Kansas City's legendary barbecue joints. That alone should get you to KC!

LOCATION: Lyric Theatre, 1029 Central St., Kansas City, MO 64105
REGISTRATION: Begins 9:00 a.m. on site
REHEARSAL: 10:00 a.m.
PERFORMANCE: 12 noon

Of course the performance is free and open to the public. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Participants will pay a $5 registration fee at the Theatre and can purchase music for the event on site.

Parking is available for a fee at the 10 Central Garage and street parking is also available.
