Jim Self's "Tour de Force, Episodes for Wind Band

Dear Friends,

Next Sunday, March 28, the USC Thornton Wind Ensemble, under the direction of H. Robert Reynolds, will do the West Coast Premier of my piece “Tour de Force”, Episodes for Wind Band..

With the encouragement John Daniels and Frank Ticheli, I did a wind band version of the orchestra piece. It has been quite a successful endeavor. Among its several performances is a premier spot on a major program at CBDNA in New Mexico on April 9th. Sandy and John Daniels and my alma mater, Indiana University of Pennsylvania were co-commissioners of the Wind Band version.

I would like to invite you to the concert at USC.

The concert is FREE and there is a reduced arts concerts fare for the parking structures ($5 instead of the regular $8) if they mention they are here for a concert.
