DMA Recital Live Internet Broadcast

Post by Jeremy Lewis »

Hey Everyone,

I will be giving my first DMA recital at Texas Tech on Sunday, October 17th at 6PM in Hemmle Recital Hall. Entry is free for all. The performance will also be broadcast live over the internet.

Here's what you need to do:

Open up the Quicktime program (be sure to download the latest version)
Under file, go to Open URL
Type or paste the following address: rtsp://129.118.83.37:80/hemmle.sdp" target="_blank
Please call 806-742-2270 ext. 237 during the concert or recital to confirm the recital is actually being broadcast.

The program includes:

Concertino for Tuba by Rolf Wilhelm
Adagio from "The Limpid Stream" by Dmitri Shostakovich
Variations on Brahms by Roland Szentpali
Fantasiestucke by Robert Schumann
Blue Bells of Scotland by Arthur Pryor

Thanks,
Jeremy

I have played Fantasiestucke on the piano. I was unaware that there was a tuba arrangement of this. Is this something that is commonly available?

This is actually a different Fantasiestucke by Schumann. I'll be playing the one that the composer wrote for clarinet or cello and arranged for tuba by Floyd Cooley.
