Our Brass Quintet will be playing at Old Dominion University's Chandler Recital Hall at 4:00 pm. We will be playing Broughton's Three American Portraits and Ewald Quintet no. 3, among a few other works. See you there.

Three American Portraits is one that I enjoy very much. Of all the quintet pieces that I've played, I believe it is near the top as far as reflecting the topical moods. Once we performed it in a recital and subsequently at a few schools, sadly I was not able to encourage the rest of the quintet to keep it near the front of the folder.

Looks like it will also be going the way of the dodo in my group after the upcoming tour. Oh well.
