Young Harris Tuba Euphonium Festival

Post by DavidMcLemore »

Hello all,

On Saturday November 9th, Young Harris College will be hosting a tuba-euphonium festival open to players of all levels (high school, college, amateur), featuring Demondrae Thurman as our guest euphonium artist and myself as tuba artist. The festival will begin at 9AM (registration opens at 8AM), and last all day; participants will perform in a tuba-euphonium ensemble and have the opportunity to play for Mr. Thurman and myself in a masterclass setting. Additionally, Mr. Thurman and I will be performing on the evening recital, followed by the participant tuba-euph ensemble. Young Harris College is located in the north Georgia mountains, providing a scenic mountain backdrop for the festival.

The festival is free of charge, so the only cost is getting to and from Young Harris. for those interested in attending, please email me at yhctubaeuphfestival@gmail.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank and I will email you a registration form to complete. Registration will also be available the morning of the festival, but for those wanting to perform in the masterclass it may be better to get in a registration form ahead of time. If you have any questions or would like further information, feel free to PM me or email me at yhctubaeuphfestival@gmail.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

I hope you will consider making the trek out to Young Harris on the 9th, this will be a fun and enriching experience for tuba and euphonium players of all ages.

Best regards,

Tomorrow is the day, should be a fun day! A slight alteration has been made to the solo program for the evening concert: I will be substituting the Penderecki Capriccio for the Plog Three Minatures.
