US Army Band Concert at Brucker Hall

Post by WoodSheddin »

Short notice, but what the hell. The Ceremonial Band will be having a concert tonight at 8:00pm. Location is Brucker Hall, Ft. Myer, VA.

We do sit down concerts only a couple of times each year.

Wow! What a concept!

In my eight years with TUSAB, I played in a sit down wind band two times. I'm glad that you are getting this opportunity!

Knock 'em dead!

DZ

BTW, I assume that the concert band was covering your Chapel 60s, right? :?

Two schools of thought there. One group loves the opportunity to sit down and do what we all spent half of our lives studying. Namely diverse challenging music which enlightens the audience and the musicians.

The other group sees it as just more work and would rather do a funeral and go home than sit down for a 2 hour rehearsal.

I prefer the first train of thought.

Umm, yeah. We don't use the full band so we still cover all the work except during the actual rehearsal times, which are strategically scheduled to not cause concert band folk to have to wear gloves.

I will leave it at that. DZ, I am sure you can fill in the blanks.
