Wednesday, October 8:
Wisconsin Brass Quintet. 7:30 p.m. Mills Hall. Pre-concert discussion by composer Anthony Plog, whose work, “Four Sketches” will be featured on the program.
Thursday, October 9:
COLLOQUIUM: with composer and educator Anthony Plog, Noon, Mills Hall. The topic will be “The Student of Today: Traditional Values in a New Technology World.”
CONCERT: The Western Brass Quintet, 7:30 p.m. Mills Hall. Featured work: “Brass Quintet” by Pierre Jalbert (2013), commissioned by the Western Brass Quintet and premiered in January, 2013.
Friday, October 10:
OPEN FORUM with Oystein Baadsvik: “On the Road with my Tuba.” 12:30 − 2:30 PM, 2411 Humanities. An informal talk about life as an international tubist-composer.
CONCERT: Øystein Baadsvik, tuba, with Kirstin Ihde, piano. 8:00 PM, Mills Hall.
Saturday, October 11:
MASTER CLASS: Tuba, with tuba virtuoso Øystein Baadsvik, 4:00- 5:30 PM, Mills Hall.
CONCERT: “BRASS ALCHEMY,” featuring Øystein Baadsvik, 8:00 PM. Mills Hall.
