This may a bit early but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. On Saturday, May 7, I plan to have the first annual International Tuba Day concert.
I did this as a way to have something in between TubaChristmases and to celebrate the day recognized exclusively for tuba. Also, it's a great way to get things started with the marching season we'll all be involved in the summer.
This will be held at Channing Philbrick Park in the town of Penfield, NY. The park is located across from the old Penfield Road on Rte 441. E-mail me if you need directions.
We'll be playing from about 2 to 4 pm with a little practice before. It's a more casual and informal event compared to TubaChristmas.
The music will be based on that from Joel Day which I got from the ITE press in Virginia. We may play all of the 25 songs or like TC, pick and choose.
Bring your chairs and music stands though, since this is going to be held in a park shelter. Also, feel free to bring in some snacks or drinks, but please NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES!
If you are interested in attending, I would ask that you send me an e-mail by clicking on my profile. Please get back to me by April 15 so that I can have a head count.
Let's make this happen!

Bumping up
I'm bumping this up for anyone who is in the Rochester, NY area or plans to be here on May 7 for hopefully the first annual ITD event.
The time and location hasn't changed. All you need to do is bring your instrument, a music stand, and the music. The first eight people who sign up will get a copy of the music which I'll loan. You can also purchase the music at the International Tuba Day website.
If you are seriously interested in attending, I would ask that you send me either a private message or e-mail so that I know who would be coming. Also, please mention which instrument do you plan to bring (tuba, euphonium, etc.)

Bumping this up again because the concert is STILL ON!
I've received a lot of good responses so far, but more would always be great.
Anyone is still welcome to come, but especially those of you from upstate NY. I've read some of your posts and see some newcomers from NY here.
If you have some time, come over to the Rochester area on May 7 at 1 pm. E-mail or PM me for directions or questions.
