also among the 12 were Jason Koi, Jeremy Stoner, Tim from IU, and me. Jason, Jeremy, IU Tim, Tim Northcut, Alex, and Kent were advanced to finals. John Hardisky had a conflict and was unable to play semis.

(lesson learned: don't neglect a single thing when entire works are asked for. you'll get nailed)

Tim Northcut won, Kent Eshelman was runner up (go blue).

I believe Jason was the 2nd runner up, but I wasn't really paying attention by that point; all I could think about was a 3 hour drive through thunderstorms.

By the way, the "IU Tim" in the finals is Tim Royster. As I understand it, he was runner up in the recent Marine band audition.

I'd like to congratulate everyone involved in the semis/finals. It was a really long day, and at any audition, is an achievement to have made the "cuts". And yes.. I was the guy who had to leave before playing the second round. Such is life!

Congrats, Tim.. I will be looking forward to hearing you in the orchestra.
