Concerto Performance and Premieres!!!!!

On Tuesday May 16, the Royse City Middle School Symphonic Band and the Royse City High School Band will be premiering two new works by composer Sy Brandon. Both groups were awarded grants from Co-op Press to have Dr. Brandon compose a piece for them. The Middle School Symphonic Band will be premiering "Mission to Mars" and the High School Band will be premiering "A Franklin Portrait". In addition to these two pieces the high school band will also perform " Concerto alla Jazz" by Sy Brandon. This is a concerto for solo tuba with band accompaniment. The soloist for will be Rommel Cordova, for whom the piece was composed for. This is a very exciting opportunity for the Royse City Band program and we would like as many people to come out as possible. The concert will take place at Royse City High School and begins at 7pm. Royse City is located near the DFW metroplex. We hope to see you there!!!!
