Looking for a great opportunity to perform and learn a lot this summer? Check out the 2004 Performing Arts Institute held in Kingston, PA. PAI is a summer festival bringing together students aged 12-18 in an intensive learning atmosphere of music, dance and theatre. Orchestral repertoire from past summers included such works as Pines of Rome, Shostakovich 5th Symphony, Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis and Die Meistersinger Overture. Wind Ensemble rep has included Lincolnshire Posy, Ticheli's Blue Shades and Holst 1st Suite.
Students also take private lessons and take part in chamber music and daily masterclasses as well as music theory.
We are always looking for the best high school players we can find, so if you want a great musical learning experience give PAI a try! We'll be taking 2 euphs and 3 tubas this year.
2003 PAI students came from all over the United States and from lands as far away as Great Britain, Japan, Singapore, Czech Republic, Germany, Russia and South Korea.
This is great opportunity for young musicians to thrive in a culturally and musically diverse climate while gaining exposure to repertoire and performance opportunities that they might not otherwise experience until college.
For more information, please visit the PAI website http://www.wyomingseminary.org/pai/index.htm or contact me directly.
Thanks! Gary
