Ohio Brass Arts Festival a must for tuba/euphs

The Ohio Brass Arts Festival (OBAF) sponsored by Colonial Music (a member of the Music Arts Center family) and hosted by the Central Ohio Brass Band (COBB) will be at Westerville South High School, just northwest of Columbus on April 1st, 2006.
For tuba/euph players it should be an outstanding day...other than the 7 brass bands performing, the Twisted Steel tuba/euph quartet (from Missouri) will be performing and Helen Tyler (solo baritone, Fodens) will be a guest clinician and soloist with the Brass Band of Columbus.
In addition to Helen's solos, the TBDBITL Alumni Band (under the direction of Paul Droste) will perform the world premiere of the brass band arrangement of Mirror Lake played by Paul's daughter (and 2 time NABBA slow melody Champion) Diana Herak.
The weekend schedule is as follows:
March 31st, 2007
2:30 pm - 4:30 pm: 22nd Annual God & Country Concert with Brass Band of Columbus and Pendel Brass & Singers. Capitol Theatre at the Verne Riffe Centre, Columbus, OH. (This is a free event, but tickets are required and available from the Columbus Salvation Army 614-221-6561 or pcain@use.salvationarmy.org)
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm: OBAF Dinner Event with pub quiz at the Winking Lizard Tavern ($18 and CASH bar. Cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm). Only 100 seats...first come first serve.
April 1st, 2007
12:30 pm - 6:00pm: Ohio Brass Arts Festival. Westerville South High School, Westerville, OH.
6:30pm - ???: Free dinner sponsored by Fado's Irish Pub, Easton Town Centre, Columbus, OH. You must wear your festival wristband.
