UNCG at Strathmore

Post by THE TUBA »

-::This should probably be moved to the events section::-

I highly recommend going to see the UNCG Wind Ensemble at the Strathmore or one of their other stops along the way. I have had the privilege of hearing the Wind Ensemble three times already this school year, and have been increasingly impressed each time. I have heard both new works played by the wind ensemble, and they are awesome. I'll admit I'm biased- I attend UNCG, but this will be a truly great concert.

I see a world premiere on the program, so willl Carter Pann be there? He was the TA for my sophomore sight-singing / dictation class at Michigan in '95...

UNCG WE

Carter will be with us for the concert on Sunday, but Dzubay most likely will not be able to attend. Carter is also joining us on the recording session Saturday morning. He is extremely enthusiastic about this endeavor and I have to say he has written an absolute brilliant piece of music. It is quite difficult, but well worth the effort. I feel it will make the rounds of top collegiate ensembles over the next few years.

If you are considering attending, contact the UNCG Band Office ASAP at 1-800-999-2869. We are down to our last 100 tickets!

Hope to see you there!
