Richard Demy will be performing a concert at The University of Alabama on monday the 19th of march at 6:00. This concert will feature the euphonium as a stand alone instrument as a demonstration to show how the inclusion of modern technology can make it possible to perform in public when finding a pianist is impractical.

The concert series will include new transcriptions of old works, some standard literature pieces, and a World Premiere of "Learning" for string quartet and euphonium By Nick Gish, in a electro-acoustical format.

Program may or may not include, and won't be limited to:

Learning - Gish
Songs of a wayfarer -Mahler (transcribed by R. Demy)
Adagio for Strings -Barber (transcribed by R. Demy)
Fantasia -Gordon Jacobs
cello suite no.2 – Bach
....Flight of the Bumble Bee – Rimsky- korsakov (arr. Neal Corwell)

I'll try to mix it up...

I didn't want to post this until I had everything double checked, but I will be performing on Tuesday the 20th at the University of Georgia (Athens) and the University of Kentucky on the 21st as well! I hope to see some people there!

O, I'm changing the concert program too.. I'll post what the final is going to be.

Hello,
I thought I would post this if Richard can't make it to a computer while on the road. His recital at the University of Kentucky will be on Wednesday March 21 at 2:00 PM in the band room, which is in the fine arts building. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
