On June 16th in Boxborough, Ma, there will be an attempt to set a GUINNESS world record for largest recorded tuba ensemble. The current Guinness world record is 134, so at least 135 are needed. I (we) know that many TubaChristmas gigs have exceeded that number, some by hundreds, but they apparently were not recorded by Guinness. For more info, go to: http://www.boxboroughminutemen.org/tubarecord.htm

No flames, please. This is the brainstorm of the Boxborough Minutemen, who run the Fifer's Fair. I'm just along for the ride on this one.

As of this morning, the pre-registered count is 138. If all show, we'll have the Guinness official record.
It's going to be a blast, regardless. Looks like good weather and a free lunch. Yeah, I know, TANSTAAFL, but this one you won't have to pay for.
