Hey all, I am going to Blue Lake Summer Music Camp again this summer. I am getting there on the 11th in time to listen to some of the Falcone competition. The Trombone and Euphonium choir session goes from Aug 12-15 and the Adult Concert Band from August 15-18.
Is anyone planning on being there? Last year I had to play trombone because there were not enough Euph players to form much of a Euph Ensemble.....Lets show some spirit and get a larger euphonium contingent for the Aug 12-15 session!
By the way, the camp is very cost effective, each session being just $185.00 (includes food but not lodging). There is a nice Best Western near the camp that is reasonable (and has a good bar I am told). Also a Ramada. You can even tent camp if you want to! The location is very "midwest friendly" since it is in western Michigan, near Muskegon.
Last year Earle Louder did the Trombone and Euph choir session. He will not be doing it this year....

Last night of Adult Concert Band - German Beer (uh band) nig
Jamie,
Come on over on the last night of the Adult Concert Band (on Aug 17 I think). We have German Band night. You get to hear a rousing rendition of "Dueling Alphorns" and "Mein horn sind sehr gefulst mit der trinken haben" (Loosely translated as "I have had too much to drink to play anymore!")
