Informal tuba/euphonium performance: Monroe, CT

Post by pgiampi1 »

Creative Music Center will be having a Grand Opening of their beautiful new store (701 Main Street, Monroe, CT...right down the street from the old location) on Saturday, March 15th. They are holding the "World's Longest Jam Session" with performances right in the storefront, which I am happy to say will include both euphonium and tuba.

Art Hovey and I will be performing some duets from approximately 12:45-1 pm. I am not sure, but he may be performing alone before this time as well (maybe Art can clear this up).

Then from 1-1:30, I will perform a short set of unaccompanied pieces, including:
J.S. Bach - Courante, Sarabande, and Gigue from Cello Suite No. 1
David Fetter - Variations on Dona Nobis Pacem
David Gillingham - "Firefly" and "Moonlight Across the Water" from Blue Lake Fantasies

It's a beautiful store and private teaching is available (hint hint). Hope you can make it!!!

Art confirmed for me that he is performing at some point before our duet performance.

I should add that the store is providing free refreshments for the grand opening! So it's kind of like a recital with a food-based bribe, but you can walk around and eat while I miss notes! WHAT A DEAL!
