Post by Bove »

This Thursday Night!

EXTENSION ENSEMBLE
at Tonic
Thursday, Aug 26th 8-9PM

Brass Bands on the Cutting Edge: Extension Ensemble plus TILT Brass Band plus Urban Brass Quintet plus Jon Nelson's Genkin Philharmonic $15 (8PM-Mid)

The Extension Ensemble - with Ralph Alessi, Sycil Mathai (trumpets), Theo Primis (horn), Michael Boschen (trombone), Andrew Bove (tuba) - will be performing music by Ralph Alessi, James Carney, and Moondog.

The Extension Ensemble is steadily building a reputation for daring and innovative programming, and performs a wide variety of contemporary music. Whether it is through commissioning new music, through education, or presenting concerts that include new music as well as improvisation, this ensemble consistently demonstrates a commitment to expand both the brass repertoire and audiences’ perceptions of contemporary brass quintets.

Tonic is located at 107 Norfolk Street between Delancey and Rivington Streets in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

You can take the F train to Delancey Street or the J/M/Z trains to Essex Street. Once you exit the station walk east (towards the Williamsburg bridge) on Delancey Street and take your first left onto Norfolk. You will see Tonic about half up the block on your left.
