Hey all,
I wanted to let all of you in southwest Michigan and beyond know that WMU's 29th annual TUBAfest(tm) will take place on 30 OcTUBA 2004 in the Dorothy U. Dalton Center. Our guest this year is artist/clinician (and longtime Jacobs student) Roger Rocco, who will not only be presenting a master class, but will also lead a directors' meeting on tuba-euph pedagogy. Be sure to bring your horn to participate in the Mass Tuba-Euph Ensemble on the Final concert! The basic schedule is as follows:
12pm- Recital: Solo and chamber performances by members of the WMU tuba-euphonium studio
2pm- Master Class w/ Roger Rocco
3pm- Directors' Meeting w/ Roger Rocco
5pm- Final Concert: featuring WMU Prof. Emeritus Robert Whaley, Steve Molnar of the Traverse City Symphony, Roger Rocco, the WMU Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, and the Mass Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble
Registration begins at 11.30, and is $5.00 for each participant, which goes toward funding future TUBAfests. For directions, check out http://www.pp.wmich.edu/buildings/082.html
It's shaping up to be a great day of weighty brass; we hope to see you there!
