If any TubeNet folks would like to have the rare opportunity to hear a concert featuring solo cimbasso, please come out to Kean University in Union, NJ on the afternoon of Nov 1st!
I'd be happy to offer a complementary ticket to any TubeNetter. Send me an email, and I'll make arrangements for your ticket.
Kean University has a beautiful new concert hall, and we will be playing some great music. All of the music has been arranged for chamber ensemble, which includes strings, piano, clarinet and guitar.
If you have an Italian grandmother, bring her along, she'll love it! It should be an enjoyable afternoon.

Classic arias and love songs from Italy performed on the cimbasso with chamber ensemble. The cimbasso is a rare and underappreciated brass instrument with an Italian-opera heritage. Usually used only to perform the low brass parts of Verdi operas, this beautiful instrument will be featured in a selection of romantic music from its home country. Be part of this rare event and enjoy some well-known, timeless love songs and romantic opera classics from Italy

Public Transportation
The Kean University campus is right next to a NJTransit rail station. Union Station, on the Raritan Valley line, is one stop west of downtown Newark.
Enlow Hall is on the "East Campus" and a 20min walk from the station. There is a shuttle bus to Enlow Hall from the main campus, which is a 5 min walk from the Union station.

From Parkway Traveling South
•Take Parkway South to Exit 141 "Vauxhall Rd." (You are now about 12 min. from the
hall.)
•Turn Left at the top of the ramp onto Vauxhall Rd. and travel to the end
•Turn Right onto Salem Rd. a long block to the light
•Turn Left onto Morris Avenue (Rt. 82 E) for about a half mile (See the Main Campus on
the right)
•At the end of the campus (less than a half mile), turn Left onto North Avenue (light, Rt.
439)
•At the next light (a short distance), see the East Campus building on the left
•Turn Left into the East Campus; the main doors you see are to Enlow Hall; reserved
parking around the rear of the building.
