Well, we're on the road again. This time, it's short, and covers a lot of distance! Come see your tax dollars in action, while you still have a chance ;-)

We've got a heavy program including Hazo's "Ride", Smith's "Ascension", some dixieland (where I attempt some sort of Non-yankee "feel"), and a great piece I was unfamiliar with... "Concert Rhapsody" by Babaev (This piece is a serious blow!). Also, some typical John Williams, Sousa, light jazz vocal stuff, patriotic, and featuring 9 year old trumpeter, Geoffery Gallante playing a Harry James Tribute.

Come on out and enjoy the great weather, and heavy band music!

I live in Valley City and really wanted to see you guys last night but had a football game. I'm sure you sounded great.

It was a good time, for sure.

Playing football, or marching band?

Marching band of course.
2 1/2 hours each way in a cheese wagon bus with a bunch of keyed up bandos for a 7 minute half-time show!
Still - I don't suppose I need to tell you about bandos on a bus

Joe,

We have an events page on our website. Unfortunately, events aren't added until they're set in stone.
http://www.bandofflight.af.mil/events/" target="_blank

We will have a large brass ensemble tour in mid-October throughout Michigan. Budgetary constraints have prevented us from touring with the concert band this fiscal year. We took a significant cut in our budget which equates to reduced travel. What budget we do have, we've had to allocate to deploying 11 people from our unit to South America on a Navy ship for 4 months. It's actually pretty sad... come September, we are rationing copy paper, as we have no $$ to buy more until the new budget goes through.
