Hi All...
On Sunday, October 3rd, the Illinois State University Wind Symphony (and yours truly as soloist) will be premiering a huge new work for tuba and wind ensemble. The piece, appropriately titled "Concerto for Tuba and Wind Ensemble" was written by Kimberly Archer, professor of theory and composition at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. The four movement work (approximately 22 minutes long) is a GREAT addition to our repertoire and plans for a piano reduction are underway.
The concert will be held at 3:00pm in the Center for the Performing Arts on the Campus of Illinois State University in Normal. PM or e-mail if you would like directions or more information. I plan on uploading a recording once the dust has settled.
Hope to see some of you there!
