The Kansas City Symphony will again host TubaChristmas this year, the date is Friday, December 3, 2010.
Registration Fee is just $5 per participant. All tuba and euphonium/baritone players are welcome for this annual holiday tradition. All activities will be held at the Lyric Theatre, 11th and Central, Kansas City, MO 64105.
Conductor for this year's event – back by popular demand -- is none other than Scott Watson, esteemed Professor of Tuba at the University of Kansas. We are planning a special tribute to Harvey Phillips at this year's KC TubaChristmas.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and rehearsal begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. This year's performance will begin at Noon and will conclude no later than 1 p.m. The concert is FREE and open to the public, so please tell your friends and relatives, post on Facebook, etc.
Music and TubaChristmas merchandise will be available for purchase on site. Please bring money for registration, purchase of sheet music, and TubaChristmas gear. Payment in full is required at the event.
IF YOU WANT A MUSIC STAND, please bring your own folding stand. Otherwise, please bring a lyre.
For teachers bringing groups: If you will be traveling by school bus, please pre-register your group by using the following link: http://www.kcsymphony.org/tubachristmas
We had over 400 participants at last year’s event, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged!
You can also find a parking map here: http://www.kcsymphony.org/TheSymphonyEx ... /index.jsp
If you have further questions, please contact Steven C. Murray, Kansas City Symphony's Education Manager -- smurray@kcsymphony.org" target="_blank
Please help spread the word to tuba and euphonium players in the Kansas City region, and to students and band and orchestra directors you know.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
