SING YOUR BRASS OFF!!
NYCGMC HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR at Town Hall in NYC
Date (Sun) Dec 19, 2010 at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM
Description An evening of holiday fun and surprises for chorus and brass, starring the incomparable Tony nominee and Emmy Award-winning Liz Callaway
The evening will feature holiday favorites, alongside an eclectic mix of choral music accompanied by a vibrant brass ensemble. From big band to Bollywood, from 15th Century traditional carols to modern classics by Morten Lauridsen and William Mathias, this year's concert will blow the roof off of Town Hall. The unique vocal talent and incisive wit of Liz Callaway will complement the rich and spacious sound of the 200-strong New York City Gay Men's Chorus. Liz Callaway has so many professional credits, it's difficult to list them all. She made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and two years later received a Tony nomination for her role as Lizzie in Baby. She played Ellen in the original Broadway production of Miss Saigon and Grizabella in Cats. Ms. Callaway will delight audiences with songs made famous by Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Warnes and others. Oh yes, and we'll have appearances by Ken and Barbie … So, at this most wonderful time of the year (really?!), join us and the thousands who start their annual holiday season with our chorus family
