I was just asked to perform on this concert (first and only rehearsal is wed...) The group is amazing, tours China every year in the winter, truly one of the best large ensembles I have performed with in NYC i.e.- one rehearsal is enough to make great music.
Event: Japan benefit for the recent Tsunami and additionally the Japanese families of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy.
Smetna : Moldau
Sibelius: Finlandia
work TBA
The performance is September 10th @ 64th and Central Park West at the Ethical Culture Center. 7PM.

Re: 9/10 Moldau & Finlandia - Manhattan Symphonie
TODAY!!!
If you have never heard the choral version of Finlandia - NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. It is excellent & a solid group all around.
Additional info: The TBA work was composed by Gregory Singer and commemorates 9/11. There will be a choir from Sendai too.
If you get a chance to come out, stop by. I will be the only guy with the 164... er tuba period...
