Faculty Tuba Recital - Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, TX
Tuesday - October 4, 2011
7:30pm in Cole Concert Hall located in the Tom & Peggy Wright Music Building
with James Pitts, piano

Program will include:

Waltz for Mippy III - Leonard Bernstein
Residue for Tuba and Vibraphone - Michael Horwood (with Scott Harris, vibraphone)
Concertino - Rolf Wilhelm
Divertimento for Horn, Tuba, and Piano - Trygve Madsen (with Charlie Gavin, horn)
Blue Bells of Scotland - Arthur Pryor

Hope to see anyone in the East Texas area there!

The recital was wonderful, Mr. Salas. I especially enjoyed Wilhelm's Concertino and Madsen's Divertimento for Horn, Tuba, & Piano. James Pitts is a great accompanist too! I wanted to chat, but I had to hurry out after the concert to pick my son up from Boy Scouts!

I would love to attend Octubafest if it's not when we're on vacation (Oct. 20-29). What is the date and time of the Nacogdoches Octubafest?

I just looked up the Octubafest on the SFA website. I didn't realize that Octubafest is a series of recitals throughout the month and not a singular event (ala TubaChristmas). I'm probably the only one on this message board who didn't know that!
