Hello all,
The Triton Brass Quintet is premeiring Lansing McLoskey's Concerto for Brass Quintet and Wind Ensemble, "What We Do is Secret." this Sunday 10/9, 8pm at the Boston Conservatory with their Wind Ensemble. This is part of a big Trombone Day Festival involving Blair Bollinger, Norman Bolter, Michael Davis, and many of the elite trombonists of Boston. http://www.bostonconservatory.edu/music ... ber-9-2011" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

We've had a couple rehearsals with the wind ensemble...this is a very cool piece, and the wind ensemble is doing a hell of a job laying it down for us!! If any of y'all are in the area and free Sunday, you might want to check this out. Lansing got a Barlow Endowment grant to write it for us, and this he's done some amazing work. Kinda thinking this might become a staple of the rep!!!

Hello all,
Just back from another rehearsal with the BoCo Wind Ensemble...the concerto is even cooler than i thought! Lots of interplay between the ensembles, as opposed to strict solo vs. accompaniment...kinda reminiscent of the Hindemith Sonata. We just read the other piece we're playing...by Peter Gilbert, like a fantasy on Gabrieli's Sonata Piano y Forte with some electronics & improv sections. 3 Brass choirs surrounding the winds...thought it was VERY cool!!! Come check out the concert Sunday!!! jobey

Hello all,
The premeire was highly successful!! Thanks to all who came...the house was packed!!! Blair Bollinger's performance was amazing...what a beautiful player & great person! Highly enjoyed chatting in the green room. My personal highlight of the night was the reception/tbone &rhythm section jam session. Michael Davis, Jeff Galindo, Angel Subero, John Faieta & Wes Hopper were incredible! And to top-it-off, Wes & our friend Ray Daniels cooked up some of the tastiest pulled pork I've ever had!! YUMMMMMM!!!!!!!!
