Hello, everyone!

I am giving a non-degree recital a week from today on March 4th at 1:30 PM CST, in Morphy Hall on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There are some neat pieces on the program, which I am adding here. I am also having a video of the performance webcast live, and I'll be putting the link here when I get it, (hopefully sometime later this week).

EDIT: here's the webcast link: http://www.livestream.com/threedayjaunt

Darkness Comes to Valinor (2011)--Danny Hynds

Nocturne for Tuba and Strings (2004)--Anthony Plog

Low End (omaggio: cm) for Tuba and electronic sounds (2008)--Glenn Hackbarth

Intermission

Concertpiece No. 2 for Tuba and Piano--Rodger Vaughan

Behind that ginkgo tree for Tuba and Piano (2010)--Ryosuke Yagi

Fawn--Tom Waits, arr. A. Hynds

Hope some of you can make it! And if not, check out the webcast if you have the time!

Aaron Hynds

Aaron,

I was one of the 10 Internet viewers of your recital.

Very well done. You made some potentially challenging music look and sound easy.

I like that you played at least one piece on your contrabass horn.

Congratulations.

Thank you very much! I enjoyed playing the show, and it was both fun and challenging getting all of that music ready for the recital. As always, there are things I wish would have gone better, but I am happy with the way the recital went, over all. And, as is the tradition in Madison, I am celebrating the recital with a nice glass of Wisconsin beer, (in this case, Capital Brewery's Supper Club).
